Senior Associate Athletic Director,
University of Minnesota
Regina Sullivan is completing her sixth year at the University of Minnesota as Senior Associate Athletics Director. Sullivan is the primary sport administrator for the department in addition to being the Senior Woman Administrator. Her duties include supervision of baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's gymnastics, rowing, women's soccer, softball, women's volleyball and wrestling.
Sullivan also serves as the liaison to the University's McNamara Academic Center along with the Offices of Compliance, Admissions, and Student Judicial Affairs. She has oversight for all scholarship tender offers, summer and 5th year aid requests, the Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund and the Special Assistance Fund. She works with the Faculty Athletics Oversight Committee for Intercollegiate Athletics (FAOCIA) and is on the Advisory Committee on Athletics (ACA) Subcommittee for Equity and Diversity. In addition, Sullivan serves on the Big Ten Administrators Council and the Big Ten Sports Management Council.
Before joining the University of Minnesota, Sullivan served as the Associate Athletics Director at the University of California, San Diego and was Assistant Athletics Director at the University of San Diego. Prior to her stint on the west coast, Sullivan was the Assistant Executive Director of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). She earned her master's degree in sports management at the University of Tennessee where she served as a graduate assistant in the athletics administration and worked on hosting the 1990 NCAA Women's Final Four.
Sullivan received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Yale University. She started at point guard on the varsity basketball team, set the career assist record at that time and was voted team mvp her senior season. She also played varsity field hockey, basketball and volleyball in high school. She has been a member of the NACWAA Board of Directors in addition to serving on a variety of NCAA committees in her long career in sports administration. Sullivan is a native of South Orange, NJ and has a one year old daughter, Tessie.
