Director of Curriculum and Instructional Support,
Capella University
Dr. Clawson has served in various positions in her 15 years working in higher education: faculty, academic affairs administration, grant management, instructional design, program and faculty management. The common thread to these roles is a commitment to quality improvement in teaching and learning.
During her tenure in higher education, much of Stacey's focus has been on innovation in online education. She is currently responsible for managing the production and quality of curriculum and instruction at Capella University. She also provides leadership for various University initiatives to support organizational change and quality improvement.
Prior to her work in higher education, Stacey's K-12 background also aligns well with the mission of Foundation IX. She has over 10 years of experience in K-12 education, teaching and managing various education and athletic programs. During this time she also coached basketball in multiple environments for youth aged 6-18.
Stacey is an athlete and advocate for women's professional sports. She played rugby in college and on the Twin Cities Amazons, winning national competitions at both levels. She also played on two midwest teams in the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL), winning the Superbowl in its inaugural season. She is a lifelong athlete and continues to be dedicated to hiking, running, and mountain biking across the US.
Dr. Clawson serves on the activities committee for Foundation IX to support outreach, fundraising, and community growth. She is committed to expanding the mission of Foundation IX by providing post-secondary educational scholarships to girls who have participated in sport or organized fitness activities.
